Two brothers, one studio.
We’re Maik and Pirmin, and we’ve run punchline studio in Lahr, in the Black Forest, since 2015. We both work on almost everything, from camera to editing to sound. Maik directs music videos and concert films, Pirmin directs documentaries.
The only split is what one of us does alone: Maik mixes, masters and writes the scores; Pirmin is the voice behind the mic. When you get in touch, you talk to both of us – and we do the work ourselves.

Recording Studio & Video Production in Lahr near Freiburg
punchline studio isn't a faceless production company. Behind every project are Maik and Pirmin Styrnol – two creatives who want every project to beat the last one.
We're based in Lahr near Freiburg, Germany – but it doesn't matter whether you're in Italy, the US or anywhere else. Remote mixing and mastering works just as well as in person. For video shoots, we travel worldwide.
Founded in 2015. Over 100 productions: music mixed for independent artists across all genres, concert films for international touring acts, music videos, and award-winning documentaries screened at film festivals across Europe and beyond.
Our documentaries Winter in Lviv and Für ein Lächeln have won awards at international festivals; Heart and Soul, about the cult band Scaramouche, is in production (Documentary & Reportage). Pirmin directed all eight episodes of the SWR documentary series The Kelt – Der letzte Krieger vom Ipf, nominated for the AIPS Award and screened at the INPUT Festival in Bilbao.
