Music Video Production

Your song.
A visual that lasts.

A music video is the face of the song. It helps decide whether someone hits play, whether a playlist editor notices and whether a booker remembers the name.

How we approach a music video

What matters most isn't the budget. It's one question: do the pictures fit the music? We think that through together – from the first idea to the final cut. No stock footage. No forced look.

Which music video fits your song.

Before we talk shoot days, we ask what someone should feel once the song ends. The format follows from that, not the other way round. Most of the music videos we shoot are one of these forms, or a mix of them.

A

Performance video

The band or artist plays the song in a location that fits the music. Lives on lighting, camera work and an edit cut to the rhythm of the song. Often doable in a single shoot day.

B

Story video

A narrative that makes the lyrics or the mood of the song visible, with actors and several scenes. Needs more preparation: script, casting, locations.

C

Performance & story

The combination of both. The performance anchors the artist in the song, the scenes in between give it depth. Often the strongest solution.

D

Live session

Like a performance video, just without playback: the band actually plays the song, picture and sound happen in the same moment. Strictly speaking that's a small concert film, and we plan it that way too – more under Concert Films.

E

Short formats

We cut Reels, Shorts and TikToks from the same shoot, in portrait format and tailored to the platform. Why the full video is still worth it: this article.

Still not sure?

Many people arrive with a feeling, a mood or an image. That's enough as a starting point. We develop the concept together in the first conversation.

Music video pricing: no packages.
Building blocks.

A music video happens in three phases: pre-production, shoot and post-production. For a performance video at your location, pre-production is small; for a story with several locations it’s a project of its own: script, location scouting, shot list, casting, set design.

Every video is planned around the song. That's why we don't sell packages but building blocks: which ones you need, and how many, we work out in the first conversation. Location, costumes or casting you can bring yourselves or hand to us.

All prices incl. 19% VAT, net price below. If there's a fixed budget, tell us upfront – then we'll plan the concept around it.

A bigger budget doesn't automatically make a video better, it just opens up more possibilities. Why a cheaper music video sometimes works better is in our article Budget vs. Concept.

For a first quote, we just need the song (or a demo), your rough idea and your timeframe. If there's a fixed budget, tell us upfront – then we'll plan the concept around it.

From idea to video.

01

First conversation

We listen – what do you have in mind? What fits the music? What's your budget? No pitch, just a conversation.

02

Concept

We develop a visual direction that suits the music – with storyboard, moodboard and locations.

03

Pre-production

Location scouting, casting, filming permits, gear booking, schedule – we organise everything.

04

Shoot

1–3 shoot days depending on scope. Professional camera and lighting setup, plus a drone if you want one.

05

Post-Production

Editing, colour grading, VFX and audio sync. You get a rough cut to sign off on.

06

Delivery

Final version in all formats – YouTube (4K), Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc. Ready to publish.

Why you can hear the music in the edit.

We work with music every day – mixing, composing, on set for concert films. It shows: playback runs in sync so every lip movement lines up, and the edit follows the beat and the arc of the song.

If the song itself isn't finished yet, we offer that separately too: Mixing & Mastering and Music Production.

Frequently Asked Questions about Music Videos.

Does every music video need a story?
No – but it needs a point of view. A pure performance video can be powerful when the editing, lighting and energy are right. A narrative can help, but it isn't a must. Together we work out what fits the music and the artist best.
Do I need to have a finished concept already?
No. Many artists come with a feeling, a mood or an image – and that's enough to start with. Developing the concept is part of our job. If you already have one, bring it along and we'll bring it to life together.
How long does a music video production take?
From the first enquiry to final delivery, the process typically takes 3–6 weeks. This depends on the complexity of the project: a simple performance video is faster than an elaborate narrative with actors and multiple locations. We'll go through the timeline in the first conversation.
Can you mix performance and story scenes?
Yes – that's often the strongest approach. Performance footage ties the artist to the song, while narrative scenes bring out the emotional depth of the lyrics. Many of the best music videos are built on exactly that mix.
